Grey's Anatomy season 9 is promising to be a big season for the series, and work has just begun on the writing of it. Kevin McKidd is currently out promoting his big screen project Brave, but the actor is also taking the time to dish on the series, the big finale that shocked everyone, and what is to come next on Grey's.
McKidd sat down with VH1 Morning Live on Wednesday morning to talk about the series. His first focus was on the finale. His character, Owen Hunt, fired his best friend Teddy, played by Kim Raver, from the hospital. This will force her to take a job elsewhere. He said the following about the finale:
"That was rough That scene when we shot that day ... it was rough. Kim and I are great great friends, so that was a rough scene to shoot."
Owen and Teddy have had their ups and down since the pair arrived at Seattle Grace-Mercy West, but they had worked through them as the season ended. It will be interesting how Owen deals with things without the major support system he had in Teddy.
As for season nine, Kevin McKidd isn't sure what will happen next, but he did reveal a little something for the fans. Production on season nine will start in 'about four weeks' for the new episodes. That is when the cast heads back to work for filming. Once that happens, the cast will know what is next for their characters. A lot of drama is on the way that is for sure. Shonda Rhimes is getting ready to reveal all to the cast in July.
