Kim Kardashian told Oprah Winfrey that she lost her virginity at the age of 14 and that her mom Kris Jenner approved of it. What kind of mother would approve of her daughter losing her virginity at the age of 14?
According to a report from Hollywood Life, Kim explained to Oprah during a recent interview that she was in a relationship 'with a man who was close to the family' at that time. When she decided she was ready for sex she talked to her mom about it. Kris approved Kim's decision and arranged for her to go on birth control at the age of 14.
As most mothers know, if a teenager is determined to have sex, he or she will have it and a mom's approval isn't a necessity. So Kris Jenner's actions aren't all bad. However, it seems odd that she didn't try to convince her daughter to wait until she was older before engaging in sexual activity with anyone—whether he was a friend of the family or not.
Did the Keeping Up With the Kardashians mom act appropriately in her decision to not challenge Kim Kardashian's decision to lose her virginity at just 14 years old? Should she have at the very least tried to convince Kim to wait until she was older before having sex? Or did she simply know her daughter well enough to understand she'd have gone ahead and had sex anyway, even without her approval? Did Kris Jenner simply err on the side of caution where Kim Kardashian was concerned?
