Kim Kardashian told Oprah that her infamous sex tape with Ray J sparked her successful career. In the big O's interview on Oprah's Next Chapter featuring the other Kardashian siblings and Kris Jenner, Kim acknowledged that while she initially felt ashamed regarding the video's contents, in retrospect, it helped make her what she has become today.
Kim explained, "You know, I think that's how I was definitely introduced to the world. It was a negative way, so I felt like I really had to work ten times harder to get people to see the real me." Yes, if only the world could say the negativity regarding your antics stopped there, Kim. If the sex tape introduced you, one would have to say that the sham marriage to Kris Humphries proved a fitting re-introduction.
Regarding the day the tape was released, Kim's mom Kris Jenner related that "No mother ever wants to hear something like that. I could tell she was in a lot of pain." Pain, really? Because from watching the video and seeing how her shameless career has taken off ever since, it would seem that Kim was laughing in ecstasy all the way to the bank.
Speaking sagaciously about the aforementioned mistakes and others in her life, Kim Kardashian said, "I have to live with the choices I have made. And I can't dwell on it." You and all the rest of your reality television-watching fans have to live with those choices you made (and continue to make), Kim. Just when those fans will see who exactly you believe your "real" self is, however, remains anyone's guess.
