After more than five years of a seemingly blissful marriage, it looks like Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise are headed for splitsville.
According to breaking celebrity news reports, the Hollywood couple is in the process of filing for divorce.
Holmes' attorney released a statement Thursday morning confirming the couple's divorce.
"This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest," the attorney's statement said.
Holmes and Cruise have one daughter together, the adorable, 6-year-old mini fashionista Suri Cruise.

After all, it was only a few years ago when Cruise famously proclaimed his undying love for Katie Holmes by jumping on Oprah's couch and going all sorts of crazy on Oprah Winfrey's daytime TV talk show.

Maybe he needs to hop on his own couch and have a good, long, enthusiastic jump to rekindle that loving spark.
Like many celebrity unions, the marriage between Holmes and Cruise was always a bit of an odd pairing.
The two have a 16-year age difference, which must be difficult to overlook on a day-to-day basis in a marriage.
