Andy Griffith has reportedly already been buried today--Tuesday, July 3rd--the day he died. If the actor and musician wasn't Jewish then why the quick burial?
According to a report from TMZ, it was at Griffith's request that he was buried today--just hours after he passed away in North Carolina at the age of 86.
A representative from the Twiford Funeral Homes in Manteo, North Carolina has confirmed that Griffith asked to be buried immediately after his death. He was buried on his family farm on Roanoke Island.
It's uncertain whether Andy Griffith's body was embalmed prior to his burial. The rep from the funeral home refused to comment on that regard. It's not illegal in North Carolina to bury someone sans the embalming process.
Andy Griffith's life was celebrated in a very small, private service this morning with just very close friends and family members in attendance. He was buried shortly thereafter per his wishes.
How wonderful that family, friends and the local funeral home carried out his wishes so quickly on the day he passed away.
