Justin Bieber has made a confession that may shock some Beliebers, but confirm what others already suspected. His big reveal proves that nothing is sacred in this day and age. Long gone are the days when an artist was forced to rely on their talent instead of technology.
In a recent interview, Justin admits he is not the perfectly pitched singer the world hears on the radio. Shock! No, you don't say! He is not taking responsibility for the deception and says, "I don't use Auto-Tune. They tune my vocals - they use Melodyne."
To be fair, Justin's voice is way more natural than some of the so-called singers that are on the radio today. Like say, Britney Spears or Kesha. They would not have careers if it was not for some pretty talented marketing people and the handy dandy auto-tune software. Justin's impromptu performances on balconies and street corners supports the fact that he has some vocal talent, unlike some other so-called singers who could make your ears bleed if they tried the same stunt.
Justin Bieber defends himself and explains, "Every artist uses Melodyne. Not every artist, but 99 per cent of artists." He does have a point. The world would not know what to do if it heard real talent. However, Adele does have some pretty solid live vocals. Maybe she is in that one percent.
The Biebs goes on to add, "I like the sound, the perfectness of tuning in the record. No one has completely perfect pitch." Well, it may sound better, but isn't it a little misleading to use something that makes a singer's voice sound good? Technically, anybody can be a singer with a little help from technology. Oh wait, that is exactly what has happened in the world today.
