Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik's talents were pooled together in 2010 to form the UK boy band One Direction after they each auditioned on The X Factor. Niall says that they are still absolutely stunned at the level of success they have achieved since.
"To be honest, if you had said to us a year ago, and this sounds so cliché, [but] if you had said to us a year ago that we were gonna be touring America, we would absolutely have fell on the ground laughing at you," Niall Horan said.
From what Niall says, it sounds like it was just on a hunch that One Direction would be sent to the United States to tour their debut album, Up All Night.
Niall said, "Obviously when the record label and stuff wanted to send us to America just to see how it would go, no one, not even them, had an idea of how it was going to go. And self-admittedly no one could tell how it was going to go."
Well, it might not have been obvious then, but it is quite obvious now just how much of a success the UK boy band has become. The 1D boys just returned from their American tour this past weekend. Every single one of their performances was a phenomenal success, and more than three quarters of next years' tour is already sold out! Fans, called Directioners, are absolutely crazy about One Direction!
Niall Horan continued, "So to think that we're going on a world tour next year and about 85 percent of it is sold-out already is just mind-blowing."
Needless to say, Niall is proud to be a part of One Direction. Who wouldn't be?
