With Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield dating, one would think that makes it easier to engage in an on-screen romance. However, Garfield has said that their love scenes in The Amazing Spider-Man movie were terrifying for him. How so?
In the latest Marvel superhero film, Stone plays Gwen Stacy, the beautiful blond love interest of Peter Parker. In real life, Garfield and Stone are romantically involved too, but that didn't make filming any easier.
Garfield, age 28, commented about having to act out a first love with the girl he's currently dating. The star of critically acclaimed film, The Social Network, said in a recent article:
"The romantic scenes have to be spontaneous and free and terrifying because thats what first love is.
In a weird way, the love scenes were actually more frightening than swinging through the buildings, especially because it's Emma - she's terrifying."
Emma Stone definitely has one of those strong personalities which shows in her work as Gwen Stacy, as well as her various appearances at awards shows or talk shows. One would have to think she isn't putting on a front, so Garfield knows better than anyone how "terrifying" she is to work with. He means that in a good way though, because most guys would love the opportunity to be terrified by Emma Stone in love scenes on the big screen!
