Justin Bieber reportedly wants to form a celebrity soccer team and he wants none other than David Beckham to serve as coach. Do you think the Biebs is on to something? Would this be a co-ed team where Selena Gomez could play, too?
According to a report from Zee News, the team, of course, would base itself in L.A., where throngs of celebrities would likely kill to play under Beckham's direction. Justin is even expecting that the One Direction members—Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson—will sign on to play.
"I've been playing a lot of soccer over the last two or three years. I've been really enjoying it," Justin says. "I know there's an LA celebrity team that Robbie Williams was in, but I am looking to start a team for the younger guys. The One Direction guys said that they'll play and also Lil Bow Wow.
Justin Bieber says there's no question about who should coach the team, and he plans to take matters into his own hands to see it come to fruition.
"There's only one guy we want to coach the team and that is David Beckham. It's not like we will be playing a game every week. It will, in reality probably only be about three or four games a season." Justin says. "I am going to personally ask David myself and I'm really hoping he will say yes. And we will play only 10 minutes from his house."
And as far as Selena Gomez playing for Justin's soccer team—well, that might be a point of contention.
"I was going to ask my girl Selena and Victoria (Beckham) if they wanted to be cheerleaders for us. But hey, that might be pushing it," he says.
Pushing it? Is Justin Bieber crazy? Selena and Posh Spice could likely kick some major soccer butt! Cheerleaders? He's dreaming!
