Sage Stallone (also known as "Stoney") is the latest victim of a prescription drug overdose in Tinseltown. He is Sylvester Stallone's 36-year-old son. He is the oldest of Stallone's children and Sly is reportedly "devastated" by the news.
If you have seen the Rocky movies, you will remember Sage as Rocky's rebellious son in Rocky V. Sly was at Comic-Con Friday when he apparently got the news of Sage's death.
Sage Moonblood Stallone was married briefly in 2007 to Starlin Wright but had the marriage annulled. He was allegedly thinking of getting married again and was working on "all kinds of project." Doesn't sound like a guy who was suicidal.
As of 10:22 PM CST, TMZ reports that no suicide note has been recovered. The death appears to be another senseless prescription drug overdose as TMZ reports numerous pill bottles found at the scene. Is this a problem of personal irresponsibility on the part of celebrities such as Michael Jackson, Heath Ledger, Brittany Murphy and numerous professional athletes? Or should doctors be held accountable? Perhaps doctors should cut back on the narcotics prescriptions. But then the pharmaceutical companies couldn't make record profits. It's a deadly cycle.
An autopsy is scheduled to be preformed within the next 24–48 hours. Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter says there was no sign of foul play but he also could not say what types of pill bottles were recovered.
Sage's mother is Sasha Czack, who divorced Sly in 1985. He is also survived by one brother, Seargeoh Stallone, and three sisters, Sistine, Sophia, and Scarlet Stallone.
Looks like drugs snuffed out another promising young Hollywood life. RIP Sage Stallone.
