Alexander Skarsgard of True Blood fame may not be fully prepared to audition for the role of Christian in Fifty Shades of Grey, but that doesn't mean he is out of the running. Fan favorites Ryan Gosling and Ian Somerhalder may be left out in the cold once Alex beefs up on the role, not that Alex really needs any physical beefing up.
Alex admitted at Comic-Con Saturday that he hasn't read the sensational book yet, but his interest has indeed been peaked. "He's just lived the life," he said. "All I heard is he's got a chamber in his basement." As Skarsgard has previously noted, he is fully qualified to play the dominant male lead from his experience playing Eric Northman on True Blood, who also has a 'play room' equipped with chains and the like.
Although no one has approached Alexander Skarsgard just yet about starring in the film production of Fifty Shades of Grey, there is still plenty of time to beef up on the role and read the novel. Casting isn't yet a concern until the screenplay actually gets written. Do you think Alexander has what it takes to portray Christian Grey?
