Initially, One Direction's Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan each auditioned as solo artists for the X Factor. Now, two years later, Liam has changed his tune; Payne says now that he thinks a solo career would be "massively boring."
In a recent interview, Liam was asked if he was thinking about stepping apart from the other guys to do his own singing thing.
Liam Payne said, "Erm, not really. I think it would be massively, massively boring! I don't know how Justin Bieber does it, but full props to him."
This certainly wasn't an insult to Bieber - Liam just can't imagine touring and performing alone.
"I like being around the boys," Liam said. "I enjoy other people's company and it's a lot more fun being in a band on stage."
Of course, Liam has always been performing as a part of One Direction. Perhaps if he had had the opportunity for a solo career initially, as Justin Bieber did, his feelings on the matter would be quite different.
