When Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson, she wasn't just messing up the relationship with her loving boyfriend; she was potentially jeopardizing the fate of the final installment of the Twilight series, Breaking Dawn Part II. For years the films based on the popular vampire series had done so well not just because of the storylines and intriguing characters, but because of the "are-they-aren't-they" speculation around the two stars of the film. But will fans be turned off by the "momentary indiscretion"? Do the photos of Kristen Stewart kissing Rupert Sanders mean that the final Twilight will be a flop?
"Could it affect the box office sales? Sure, it's possible," said an insider. "But she would have to do something even worse than kissing a married man, something completely against societal norms, like Mel Gibson or Woody Allen." So, in essence, what KStew did was bad, and while Twi-Hards might rant and moan about what a trollop she is, they'll still go see the film in November. In fact, they may go in droves—more than before!
While Robert Pattinson has always been swoon-worthy, according to New York Daily News, his stock will go up even higher because now women will have major sympathy for him. Poor Rob! Who could ever do something like that to him! Female fans won't just go to the film for his fine acting skills and unstoppable hair—they'll also head to the theater to observe him and daydream about comforting him!
Obviously Rob is better off without Kristen. But was the cheating scandal a blessing in disguise? Is his rising career more important than their relationship?
