Amidst the awe-inspiring 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony, eyes were drawn to what the VIPs wore at the big event. Samantha Cameron, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco, Catherine Duchess of Cambridge, and Queen Elizabeth II herself put on their Olympic-ready outfits on July 27.
Princess Charlene seemed stuck in a neutral-colored rut since Olympic festivities began. After her nude dress and black jacket outfit at the Maison de Monaco inauguration on July 26, the Princess attended a Buckingham Palace reception in an off-white Akris pantsuit, as noted by The Royal Couturier. She wore the same look for the opening ceremony. The intricate lace on both the blouse and pants was an eye-catching detail. But, with Princess Charlene's lack of accessories, matchy-matchy footwear, and limp locks, her Olympic ensemble did not spell success.
Samantha Cameron, otherwise known as Sam Cam, fared far better in red. Grazia Daily quickly IDed Mrs. David Cameron's fabulous Roksanda Ilincic color-block top which she belted. Black pants completed her winning attire.
