The Robert Pattinson vs. Kristen Stewart cheating scandal has revealed a startling new detail that is almost as shocking as KStew's infidelity itself. The one question the world has asked about the scandal is "Why?" Why would a woman as rich, beautiful, and successful as Kristen Stewart cheat on her rich, famous heart-throb boyfriend with a dorky looking older guy like Rupert Sanders? Well, now it seems that question has been answered. Kristen cheated on Rob out of jealousy over his relationship with Emilie de Ravin.
The world should hold off on branding Kristen Stewart with a scarlet letter "A" and imprisoning her in the stocks. Stewart didn't "cheat" with Rupert Sanders out of boredom, love, lust, or (Heaven forbid) wanton promiscuity. She hooked up with her Snow White and the Huntsman director because she was angry over Rob's attentions to de Raven. And it is true that most women who cheat do so to get revenge on a cheating significant other. But did squeaky clean Pattinson actually cheat with de Ravin?
RPattz and LOST star Emilie de Ravin reportedly became friends in 2009 on the set of Remember Me in New York while Kristen Stewart was still living in L.A. After the filming ended, Rob and Emilie remained close--um--friends. Rob has often voiced his total disapproval of "cheating," and he and Emilie never became more than BFFs. Nevertheless, La Stewart was always insecure about their friendship, and she grew moreso as time passed.
"[Kristen] found it difficult to cope with Rob being close friends with another woman," claims a source. "As their friendship grew, she Âbecame more envious to the point that she would be very upset. Nothing romantic ever happened between them, but it didn't make Kristen feel any better about them being so close. They would socialize together away from the set too. They would spend their evenings together in bars and restaurants while they were in New York."
Yikes. Robert Pattinson and his female BFF sharing emotional but not physical closeness while his lady-love was elsewhere. Sounds a lot like the Edward, Bella, Jacob triangle. No wonder KStew eventually went off the deep end. But what about de Ravin? What did she have to say about this bizarre Twilight-like triangle in which she was inadvertently involved? After all, she played Rob's lover in Remember Me. Even if nothing happened between them physically, did she and RPattz lust after each other in their hearts?
"[Rob's] a lovely guy," said Emilie noncommittally. "I read the script three weeks before they started shooting. I flew to New York to test with Rob and we immediately got along. We had instant great chemistry, which is not an easy thing to come by."
Right. That's nice, but it hardly answers the question. And that word chemistry can have many interpretations. So what do you think? Did Rob's behavior with his female BFF provoke Kristen Stewart to the point of "cheating?"
Note: Interestingly, KStew supposedly rushed to her tryst with Sanders after getting a phone call from him. Could it be that he told her some idle gossip about a Pattinson/de Ravin hook-up knowing it would provoke her to do something rash? That would also explain why she wore Rob's cap while making out with Sanders. What's that cliché about fairness in love and war? And "relationships?"
