Kristen Stewart cheated on Robert Pattinson with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders... so the headlines over the recent days have shrieked, screamed and shouted, and in so doing, have shocked, surprised and sent fans and celebrity watchers into a tizzy with the news of this seemingly uncharacteristic move on Stewart's part. But it was the photos in this infidelity nightmare between the hot actress and the married older man that really blew the lid off of their affair and had both sides issuing public apologies about the embarrassing turn of events. A picture is worth a thousand words, but these compromising shots apparently cashed in much bigger than that.
Scott Cosman, owner of FameFlyNet, knew he had a huge, shattering situation on his hands when his paparazzi team turned in the photos. "She's not just cheating on Rob, this guy is married and has kids... It was pretty scandalous and it had so many different angles to it," he admitted
But what was the dollar amount handed over by US Weekly to snag the telling photos? Former West Coast bureau chief Melanie Bromley estimated that $250,000 sounds like a fair number. That's certainly a big pay-day for any paparazzo, but it comes at a price: The exposure and so-called invasion of privacy may inflict some major damage on professional and personal lives for Stewart, Sanders and their significant others.
"There was no question when we saw those pictures that this was going to be one of the biggest stories of the year, if not the biggest," said the magazine's entertainment director, Dina Sansing, as Hollywood Life reports. And I'm not sure the Twilight fans would have believed the news without the undeniable photographic evidence." She has a point. Many would have been doubtful about a sensationalized story of Kristen Stewart cheating on her longtime love, Robert Pattinson, without hard proof.
Stewart has long had a rocky relationship with the paps, sometimes throwing caution to the wind, what with her sloppy, devil-may-care exits, her sneakers-with-couture statements and, yes, even with the flash of that middle finger. She must really dislike them now.
