The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev is defending an unintentional diss of Party in the USA singer Miley Cyrus. What did she say about Miley and why is she defending her comment?
According to a report from Hollywood Life, Nina made an off-the-cuff remark when asked if she was wearing an engagement ring recently. She assured the interviewer that she was not going to 'pull a Miley,' meaning she and boyfriend and Vampire Diaries co-star Ian Somerhalder weren't getting engaged any time soon.
Some people took the remark as a deliberate diss to Miley Cyrus and her recent engagement to Liam Hemsworth. In fact, they made such a stink that Nina feels she should explain her faux pas. She opted to do so via Twitter, in hopes that a little lighthearted humor will help dispel any rumors about a feud between the two stars.
"Note to self, light-hearted comments don't always translate in magazine articles," Nina tweeted Aug. 1. "Big fan of @Mileycyrus - do you need a flower girl? :)"
Will Miley Cyrus and her fans accept this tweet as an apology of sorts or do they think Nina Dobrev should issue a more direct and sincere apology to Miley herself instead?
