Heidi Montag starred in the MTV hit The Hills and while it surely paid off in terms of money and fame, Heidi isn't happy that her gig has followed her around even several years after the show had gone off the air. Will she ever be more than Heidi from The Hills?
"I'll never be able to be Heidi, a normal person, again," she tells Celebuzz. "What [I've] done is something that you can't undo and that's what I didn't realize. It's a very different life. It's like a lifelong sentence."
Heidi infamously left her best friend Lauren Conrad behind to go be with The Hills' resident villain, Spencer Pratt, who she later married. She and her beau even started a 'sick little rumor' that Lauren and her ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler had made a sex tape.
Heidi later had a falling out with her mother. It seemed to viewers that she was shutting everyone out of her life—except for Spencer. The two quickly became hated by fans of the show, which is something that still follows them to this day.
"I didn't realize that pretending to be this 'Hills Heidi,' this spoiled rich girl who I wasn't, would almost destroy me," she admits. Unfortunately, Heidi will never get back her time on The Hills, and the friends she scorned are gone forever. Her fallout with Lauren Conrad was one of the most highly publicised feuds in all reality TV. It's a shame she threw away such a great friendship for some notoriety that she no longer even appreciates.
Heidi Montag says she has several projects in the works, so fans may be seeing her again soon.
