Dancing With the Stars pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd went public with their romance last spring after the most recent DWTS finale, and it seems they've been together ever since. While some fans love the duo as a couple, there are others that are critical of how it seems they came together. Now the National Enquirer caught up with Peta's ex, fellow DWTS pro Damian Whitewood, and he has a few words to share about this pairing.
Maks has recently talked about his desire to become a dad at some point soon, and he even said during a guest appearance on Bethenny that Peta pursued him. However, Damian says that Chmerkovskiy isn't quite the good guy he's like people to think he is. The Enquirer caught up with Damian at the Los Angeles airport, and he apparently wasn't shy about giving his opinion on the Maks and Peta love match.
Damian, who dated Peta for five years and shared a home with her, says that Maks had hit on Peta in the past, and Damian called him out on it. Whitewood admits, "Things had gotten a little distant between Peta and me. And Maks just didn't stop." It seems that Damian learned about Peta's new romance with Maksim via Twitter, and an Enquirer source says, "Damian was crushed. He thought he really had a life going with Peta."
While Damian isn't expected back on Dancing With the Stars for the fall season, it seems he's ready to utilize his feelings about the romance to invigorate his steps on the dance floor. He says, "This has added fuel to the fire for me. I'm going to use the energy from the situation with Maks and Peta to help me perform better."
Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd had been pretty open about their romance on Twitter for a while, but they've definitely dialed things back a notch lately. They are both expected to be on DWTS this fall, and fans think it will definitely be interesting to see them together. What do you think about what Damian Whitewood had to say?
