As TMZ breaks the news that The East's Ellen Page has been the object of death threats since June, you have to wonder how much of the problem arose over her rumored relationship with co-star Alexander Skarsgard. Fortunately, there have been no attempts on the actress' life, but the threats that have now prompted the LAPD to serve Twitter with a search warrant seem to have begun in the midst of rumors that Ellen was dating Alexander.
TMZ did not release the search warrant itself, although the celebrity gossip site claims to be in possession of a copy, so the actual dates of the offending Twitter messages are unclear (the offending messages have since been removed), but the site reports that the Twitter harassment began in June around the time of Ellen's To Rome With Love premiere on June 14. That was shortly after rumors of Ellen and Alexander dating began circulating because they attended The Stanley Cup together. Could there be a connection?
The content of two of the threatening tweets have been made public, and one of them certainly seems to support Alexander Skarsgard unwittingly being part of the cause. One of the tweets mentions the True Blood cutie by name: "Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander [Skarsgard] I will K-1-L-L you in public in the next year ... Be it in a club, at a game, in a restaurant, or when you're signing autographs." Now that Alexander is now dating model Anne Vyalitsyna, Ellen's harrowing experience can hopefully come to an end and the LAPD can bring the culprit(s) to justice.
