Ann Curry was supposed to provide Olympic coverage from the opening ceremonies and throughout the games, along with her former Today Show co-workers Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Natalie Morales and Al Roker. Things didn't turn out that way, however. Although she appeared on TV prior to the start of the games, she was never seen again.
According to a report from RadarOnline, just before Ann arrived at the Olympics in London she was informed by NBC that her Olympic coverage had been significantly 'scaled back.'
"For reasons not revealed to Ann, she was told shortly before the Olympics that her role
covering the games was going to be scaled back, drastically. Ann was extremely disappointed because she had been looking forward to the games for a very long time. Ann will be appearing on the TODAY show either Thursday or Friday this week and will be contributing to coverage of the closing ceremonies next Sunday," an NBC source reveals.
Ann has received almost no air time since she was replaced as Matt Lauer's co-anchor on The Today Show. She covered some of the tragic shootings in Aurora, Colorado, but otherwise has been classified by most fans as missing in action.
Are you happy to know that Ann Curry will cover at least a small portion of the Olympics? Are you disappointed she hasn't received more air time since being ousted from The Today Show?
Do you think Ann is feeling any vindication whatsoever since The Today Show ratings have dropped? Might she get just a tiny bit of pleasure from that since NBC treated her so poorly toward the end of her Today Show stint?
