Aishwarya Rai isn't the only member of the Bachchan family feeling the heat over figure. Not content to simply taunt Aish over her weight, some in the media have now taken aim at a new target: her husband Abhishek.
Abhishek Bachchan has never felt the need to beef up for his profession. The handsome actor has never had any need to join the six-pack club—not every role demands rock hard abs, after all—and Abhishek, a fine actor with a killer comedic sense, doesn't need to rely on his muscles as a gimmick. But some in the media have taken it upon themselves to suggest otherwise.
In light of his role in the upcoming film Dhoom 3, the press has taken to wondering why Abhishek doesn't tone up more. And their comments haven't exactly been kind. He's been labeled "lazy" for refusing to shed pounds from his tall frame, and one site has even called him chubby.
Now here's the question: on what planet is Abhishek Bachchan "chubby?" He's tall and lanky, and while he probably isn't going to be winning any body building competitions in the near future, he's certainly very healthy-looking. In fact he's quite a bit more appealing than some of today's actors, who look like they could star in steroid commercials.
Not every actor needs to look like an Adonis in order to be well received by audiences. Doubtless there will be a lot of men who will watch Dhoom 3 and appreciate seeing an average guy playing a hero.

I think Abhi's pretty cute just as he is. He has the body of an average guy, which I think a lot of people like just as much as the super ripped actors. I actually prefer Abhi to, say, John Abraham.
