Robert Pattinson is allegedly revisiting his past in an effort to move on from Kristen Stewart after she cheated on him with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders. And what better way for Rob to get back at K-Stew than by talking to his ex-girlfriend, model Nina Schubert?
It makes sense that Rob would turn to someone like Nina -
- he knew her back when he could leave his house without being mobbed by Twihards. He's about to start promoting his new movie Cosmopolis, which means he has to face the press and all of the inevitable questions about Kristen. The big mess that he's found himself in might be making him long for simpler times when he didn't have to deal with paparazzi, crazy fans, and the press.
However, it doesn't sound like Robert Pattinson is trying to fill the hole in his heart that Kristen Stewart created by getting back with Nina Schubert - instead he's turned to her as a friend.
According to Sugarscape, a pal of Nina's told Look that Rob and Nina have remained close after breaking up years ago. The two of them lived right around the corner from each other growing up in London, but the childhood pals grew apart when Rob started pursuing an acting career. Here's what the source said about Nina and Rob:
"She was Rob's first serious girlfriend. It only didn't work out between them because he had to move to LA for work.
But they've stayed friends and she's been there for him more than anyone else these past few weeks, spending whole afternoons together.
Even when he calls her, upset, at 2am, saying over and over how stupid he feels for not realizing what was going on between Kristen and Rupert, she's there to listen."
It's always possible that this report is complete rubbish since unnamed sources can't always be trusted, but there are lots of Twilight fans out there who would like to think that Rob has someone who cares about him to talk to while he goes through this difficult time.
Since Nina was a part of his life before he got famous, she could be the perfect person to talk to - sometimes celebs have a hard time distinguishing true friends that they can trust from hangers-on trying to use them. And obviously Nina cared about Rob before he was Edward Cullen, which is something Kristen can't say.
