Last week, Jennifer Lopez's boyfriend Casper Smart was the cover story subject for two tabloids: In Touch claimed he had gone to a "happy endings" massage parlor, while Star claimed he had actually visited a gay cruising spot. Of course J.Lo and Casper denied both reports and threatened to sue, but by the end of the week People was running a report (probably straight from J.Lo's manager, Benny Medina) claiming that no one likes Casper and that she would probably dump him once she finds a jump-off. And now In Touch and Star (via Celebitchy.com) are running stories similar to People's.
"Her taste in men is awful," a "source" tells In Touch. "She meets a guy she likes, and within days, she offers him the world. [And when the cracks start to show] she never admits she's wrong or that she's embarrassed."
"Her taste in men is awful"—yeah, that totally sums her up. And even though this is In Touch and not a more reputable tabloid like People or Us Weekly, how obvious is it that this quote probably came from Benny? He talked candidly (and sounded pretty frustrated) about her relationships in Vogue a few months back, so he probably wouldn't have any qualms about giving some off-the-record quotes to the tabloids.
But there may be hope that J.Lo won't marry Casper! Both In Touch and Star claim that, in the wake of his happy endings/gay cruising scandal, she's "simply pretending to stand by her man for the time being" and is just waiting for the right moment to dump him.
"Since Casper's choreographing her tour, she's trying to make the best of things for the moment. But each day she's closer and closer to finally ditching him for good," another "source" tells Star, while In Touch's snitch claims that J.Lo is "'testing him,' having him watched to see how he behaves."
Hopefully these reports aren't just wishful thinking on Benny's part and J.Lo has finally seen the light. At the very least, given that multiple "she's going to dump him" reports have surfaced since last week's tabloids came out, her people are putting a ton of pressure on her to end it. But would that backfire? J.Lo doesn't tend to listen to people who tell her to be smart (no pun intended) about love. If her family and management team are all telling her to dump Casper, would that make her even more determined to marry him and prove everyone wrong? Hopefully she realizes she can do better than some half-her-age, butterface backup dancer who's probably on the down low, but she'll still probably end up marrying him.
What do you think? Will Jennifer Lopez marry Casper Smart? Will she end up marrying him? Sound off in the comments!
