Alexis Bellino wasn't exactly Mrs. Popular on season 7 of Real Housewives of Orange County. She was the focus of a "phony intervention" during a vacation to Costa Rica in which the ladies, even her close friends, pointed out that she's not always genuine. However, Alexis has moved past the incident and has even grown from the experience.
"I'm so much stronger now. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger," Alexis said in an interview with Scott Stewart for What's Up Orange County. Although filming on season 8 is due to begin next month, Alexis doesn't know if she'll return and her husband Jim has been public with the fact that he does not want her to go back.
Many have thought that she was just bluffing for attention, which may be true. Alexis enjoys the spotlight and has gotten a few hosting opportunities because of the exposure the show has given her, so if she leaves, her career will likely be impacted negatively.
Gretchen had claimed during the reunion to have warned Alexis that the girls planned to have a chat with her about her recent actions, but Alexis claims she had no idea. "I did not know about the intervention in advance. Would I have gotten on the plane with them if I knew what was going to happen?" Perhaps not, but she did leave early.
Alexis Bellino and Gretchen may never be friends again, but if fans are lucky they'll get to see their relationship evolve on the next season. It will be interesting to see if these former best friends can get through this rough patch.
