Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez enjoyed a Phish-y night in Los Angeles last night much to the surprise of their fans and fans of the group, Phish. Justin and Selena's music is not exactly similar to the rock band's style, but they are clearly open to anything. Last night, Justin's guitarist, Dan Kanter, convinced the duo to take in one of the group's extended shows and see what life is like in the fast lane.
Of course, Justin and Selena are still royalty in the music biz and got to sit in the front row throughout the concert. The couple went back stage and met the band along with their families and even posed for pictures. In one photo, Selena is seen doting over a baby. Justin wore a green tie-dyed t-shirt and a red baseball cap. Selena tried to hide under the big floppy black hat she seems to have grown attached to.
According to Jeff Kravitz, who witnessed the interaction, Justin and Phish frontman, Trey Anastasio, chatted about music. Justin's visit to the show may have also been work-related. Apparently, the lighting director for the band will be doing the lighting for Justin's Believe tour. Maybe he was getting some ideas.
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber even got into a glowstick war, a tradition at Phish concerts. An eyewitness reports, "They were having a blast." It is good to see Justin and Selena broadening their horizons in the music world. Who knows, maybe Justin will try a little rock on his next album.
