Wynonna Judd has only been married to her husband, Michael Scott "Cactus" Moser, for two short months. Little did she know what tragedy would strike Moser while the couple is still in the honeymoon phase. Saturday, the couple was out riding motorcycles when Moser crossed the center line and hit another car. Lucky for Judd, she was on a motorcycle of her own ahead of Moser. The situation likely would have been worse if she had been riding on the motorcycle with him.
Following the accident, Moser was airlifted to a hospital where it was determined that his left leg was too severely damaged to save it. Doctors at a hospital in South Dakota amputated the leg above the knee. He also had to have surgery on his hand, as it was also damaged in the accident. Can you imagine what this couple is going through right now? The whole experience has to be placing a strain on such a new marriage, but hopefully it will make the couple stronger in the end.
The couple's story doesn't end with just the news of an amputation and hand surgery. Police has stated that Moser will be cited for driving a motorcycle without the proper license, as well as driving on the wrong side of the road. Did the fact that he wasn't licensed to drive a motorcycle play a part in the accident? Was he ill-prepared to handle the bike? Hopefully, that will be something that can easily be taken care of since the driver of the vehicle Moser hit didn't want medical care following the accident.
The night of the accident, Wynonna Judd had a show scheduled. She promptly canceled that show and has said that upcoming shows in Canada will be postponed. Of course, Moser is also her drummer, so that may have played a role in her canceling the show. She has stated that she loves him and won't leave his side. At least she is showing a devotion to her man that seems to be eluding some actors and musicians.
