Miley Cyrus showed off her new haircut and a pair of Jersey Shore-esque hoop earrings while driving around in Philadelphia Monday afternoon. Perhaps attempting to prove that she is really a Philly girl at heart while in town on a movie shoot, Cyrus even tweeted a picture of herself in a car with friend, Cheyne Thomas, with the caption, "#Homiés4Life."
Cyrus, who has taken quite a pounding in the press over her new look, continues to assert her individuality as an actress and young female, spreading her wings in her post-Hannah Montana phase. While she may someday look back upon these photos and cringe, this is all a part of the maturation process. She is still only nineteen, after all.
Without offense to those beautiful Philly girls out there, Miley is certainly looking the part of your typical South Philly girl from around the way. As if the haircut, dye-job and hand tattoo were not enough, the enormous gold hoop earrings obviously take the cheese steak. No truth to the rumor that circus acrobats actually jump through those things after Miley sets them alight with her cigarette.
In a show of odd solidarity, Paris Jackson recently shared her support for Cyrus' confidence post-haircut, tweeting: "i don't know why people keep hating on miley's new cut.. i love it !! shes being herself & shes being different & i love her for that."
However one feels about Miley Cyrus' new look, one thing everyone should be able to agree on is that individuality is healthy. That is, until she pulls a Britney Spears and actually shaves it all off!
