Taylor Swift and Conor Kennedy have blossomed into quite the romantic item this summer, hanging out in Hyannis Port like JFK and Jackie O of old. Swift was pictured stepping out of a house with Kennedy in a classy sun dress and shades this week, as one could not help but conjure classic images of the golden era of Camelot.
While Kennedy, unlike his grandfather Robert F. Kennedy, is not politically inclined and the sometimes bumpkin Swift is not exactly of the same well-polished ilk as Jacqueline Bouvier, their unexpected summer romance has distilled some serious ink in the gossip presses as of late. Given the fact that the late "John John" Kennedy's relationship with Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy was regular front page news in the tabloids, the addition of Swift's star power to the Kennedy name and the couple's ages (Swift's 22 and Conor just turned 18) could make for some unprecedented attention to their puppy love romance.
Much has been made of the fact that Swift recently purchased a summer home in the upscale, Cape Cod-area summer refuge of the rich and well-connected, obviously to be closer to her latest beau. She has also has reportedly grown very close to Conor's famous family. Hanging out with political royalty in one of the East Coast's most sought after summer destinations? Not a bad way to spend the season, Taylor.
While it is unclear whether this young couple's summer loving will last past Labor Day and beyond, one thing is for sure: Taylor's douchey exes (see John Mayer, Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, etc.) have not exactly laid down the gauntlet for Conor in terms of being the man that Taylor Swift needs. Kennedy's 18 could, in fact, be relatively mature when compared to those aforementioned lady-killers.
