Rihanna should win the award for Greatest Glutton for Punishment of all Time. The "Umbrella" girl is once again engaging in a Twitter war with another woman over Chris Brown. This time the other woman isn't Karrueche Tran. Nor is she any other model, singer, dancer, actress, or video vixen. No, this time, RihRih is exchanging Twitter barbs with none other than Joan Rivers.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back on Twitter, you have to contend with Chris Brown's ex-punching bag duking it out with the acid-tongued queen of venomous one liners. It all started on August 24 when the Fashion Police harpy tweeted a not so veiled diss about RihRih's recent interview with Oprah.
"Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown," Joan wrote. "Idiot! Now it's MY turn to slap her!"
"@Joan_Rivers wow," the "Birthday Cake" singer tweeted back, "u really do get slow when you're old huh?"
Rihanna reportedly deleted the tweet later on. Later still, she replaced it with an even more insulting and more ageist one.
"Slap on some diapers," she wrote.
Perhaps Joan Rivers should have minded her own business, since RihRih can obviously be saved from her Chris Brown addiction only by a Dr. Drew Pinsky style intervention followed by commitment to some sort of mental health facility. Nevertheless, La Rivers was right.
As for the Barbadian songstress, her ageist comments were out of line. A sad fact of life--even sadder than the existence of men like Chris Brown--is that all living creatures age, unless course, they die young. Someday, Rihanna will also be old. Whether she'll still be rich and famous when that sad time arrives remains to be seen. One thing is certain, however, Chris Brown won't be there to defend her from comedians' sarcastic tweets.
Note: Karrueche Tran must be enjoying this immensely.
