Joe Giudice may be getting some good news soon. After being charged with fraud months ago, he opted for a trial where he'll plead his case. If the Real Housewives of New Jersey husband is found guilty, he faces several years of jail time, but it looks like he won't be getting a ruling for a good while.
According to Celebuzz, the trial may be delayed until 2013. The trial was originally set for October 1, but the prosecutor on the case says, "The chances of it going on that day are slim. The court tries to give preference to cases for those who are incarcerated first." Any extra time Joe can get with his family will surely be appreciated, especially if he is found guilty.
Just last month, Joe rejected a plea bargain which would have sentenced him to five years behind bars -- half the time he'll get if found guilty. Time will tell if he made the right choice.
Once the case goes before a judge, the prosecutor is confident that it won't take long for them to come to a decision. "I think we have a strong case with strong evidence."
Joe Giudice and his family may have a hard road ahead. Hopefully, they understand the repercussions he is facing and will make the most of his time as a free man.
