Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson made their presence known in America after they landed in the Sunshine state on Saturday afternoon to the delight of hundreds of fans.
Apparently, the stop went viral on Twitter, causing hundreds of die-hard directioners to show up at the airport and wait for their favorite boy band to appear.
Sadly, they didn't.
The boys instead boarded a private jet for the rest of their flight to Los Angeles without ever making an appearance in the airport.
The swarm of fans caused problems for the Tampa airport authorities, who had to take to Twitter to let it be known that One Direction would not be making an appearance in the terminal. They even announced that the band was not coming via the intercom every five minutes for two hours.
Obviously, that didn't deter fans, who waited until they were sure the boys were gone before leaving.
Do you think Harry Styles and the rest of the band should have stepped out to say hello to their fans? They did have to wait two hours before their next flight, so it would have been a nice gesture. However, fans can get a little crazy and with Twitter, it could have easily turned into one big mess.
