Michael Clarke Duncan was remembered earlier this evening by his Green Mile co-star Tom Hanks. Saddened by the passing of the actor on Sunday, Hanks spoke with ET and shared his heartfelt sentiments.
According to a report from Just Jared, Hanks played the role of prison guard Paul Edgecomb opposite Duncan's role of inmate John Coffey.
"I am terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike," Tom Hanks said in an interview on Sunday.
The Green Mile was Duncan's first major film role.
"He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of The Green Mile. He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned," Hanks added.
Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan made The Green Mile the treasure author Stephen King intended it to be. Duncan died two months after suffering a heart attack. Girlfriend Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, formerly of The Apprentice fame, saved his life that day. She had left his side for a short time when he passed away on Sunday.
Kudos to Tom Hanks for his kind words on this late, great actor. His legend will live on but his void will be felt for a very long time to come.
May he rest in peace and may his friends and family find comfort in their time of mourning.
