Britney Spears reportedly walked off the X Factor on the first day and quit the show, but the little episode was vehemently denied. Now, it turns out it really did happen. Simon Cowell went into damage control mode after a witness revealed Britney freaked out and stormed off the set on the first day of auditions.
Now that the show is gearing up for its big debut, Simon admits things were not good in the beginning. He tells TMZ, "No one is going to admit that on the first day your highest paid star after 20 minutes has walked off set." Britney signed a deal that would earn her a whopping $15 million for her judging skills. Can you imagine the horror Simon must have felt when he realized she couldn't handle the pressure?
Simon explains Britney, "had a moment on the first day where she said to me "I'm not sure I can do this." Clearly, Simon is a persuasive guy and managed to talk her back into her seat on the judging panel. Jason Trawick likely had a hand in getting Britney back on the job as well.
Now that the real story is out, do you think Britney Spears will be signing on for another season? It sounds like it is a little too much for her to handle. Not to mention, will Simon be willing to gamble on her again?
