Christian Bale is proving himself a hero off-screen as well as on. The actor, who met earlier in the summer with the Aurora, Colorado, shooting victims, has now made a dream come true for a young leukemia patient. This amazingly compassionate act has earned the actor some new fans, although that certainly wasn't his intention.
Jayden Barber, at the young age of 4, has fought cancer for over two years and is now in remission. According to Yahoo! Movies, The Dark Knight Rises star flew the young fan and his family to Los Angeles earlier this week and shared an intimate lunch with them at Disneyland's Club 33. Not only did he treat the family, but he spent time with them, which is awesome! Any celebrity can throw money at a charitable cause, but it takes more to give their time to their fans.
Jayden's mother, Charlene, posted pictures on Facebook following the meeting with the star. "The entire interaction was like old friends having lunch. Jayden did not get star struck but was well aware of who we were with!" she gushed. They have a Facebook page that has been dedicated to trying to get the actor to meet up with the young cancer fighter, and apparently it worked!
Christian Bale continues to prove that you don't have to fight for justice vigilante-style to be a hero and make a difference in people's lives. His compassion is a lesson for everyone.
