Justin Bieber has literally millions of fans but Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong is obviously not one of them. At the iHeart Radio Music Festival, Green Day's Billie Joe flipped out onstage and launched into an anti-JB rant.
Actually the real reason for Armstrong's meltdown had nothing to do with the Biebs. It all started when the folks at iHeartRadio cut Green Day's 45-minute set down to a paltry 30 minutes to make more room for Rihanna and Usher. Usher's set lasted 25 minutes longer than originally scheduled, but that wasn't JB's fault either. Nevertheless, when Billie Joe was informed that he had only one more minute of stage time left, he went ballistic. Which is kind of understandable since he'd just ditched "Basket Case" to start a new song. Whatever. The bottomline is, that's exactly what he turned into--a basket case, and for some reason, he made the "Boyfriend" singer the object of his wrath.
"I'm not Justin Bieber, you motherf**kers!," Billie Joe screamed. "You gotta be f**king joking. I got one minute, one minute left. Now I got nothing left. Let me show you what one minute f**king means!"
Alas, he wasn't finished. He then smashed his guitar to pieces on the ground, flipped the middle finger to the camera, and stomped off the stage.
Although Armstrong's anger was understandable, his targeting Bieber remains a mystery. Justin wasn't even at the festival that night, and he's not on the schedule to appear there at all. Did JB pop into Armstrong's mind because of the Usher connection? After all, Green Day's time was cut short partly to accommodate Usher. Or has Billie Joe Armstrong always harbored some deep-seated resentment against Bieber, and it just rushed to the surface during a tense moment?
Alas, the world will probably never know. So far, Billie Joe Armstrong has not apologized. And there has been no word from Justin Bieber or his rep. But you can watch Billie Joe going berserk on the video below.
