The new, character-slaying book about Kate Gosselin, written by Jon Gosselin's friend Robert Hoffman, is no longer on sale. It was removed from sale following serious legal threats.
According to a report from RadarOnline, Amazon removed the e-book from its site pending further investigation.
Robert Hoffman claims he wrote the book about Kate from computer hard drives he found in her trash. Included in the e-book are emails Kate received, correspondence between her and the Discovery network, and a variety of contracts and personal documents.
Hoffman shared stories about Kate and her children, including the allegation that she beat them with a wooden spoon as a means of discipline. The author used to write a daily report about Kate when she starred in Jon & Kate Plus 8, for Us Weekly, and referred to many of those notes for use in the book as well.
Jon Gosselin hasn't yet replied to questions about what he knew of the book prior to its publication. Sources question why he would allow such a book to be published and why he allowed such seemingly heinous acts to be committed by Kate on their children while he stood by and watched—therefore leaving many with questions as to the book's validity.
Two top law firms have intervened in the book's sale and promotion—per both Kate and Discovery network. It's uncertain how they plan to proceed with legal action.
Did you buy the Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled The World, the e-book by Jon Gosselin's friend Robert Hoffman? Do you think he wrote the book based on fact or did he tweak what he supposedly found in Kate's trash to make for a more sensational—and thus top-selling—tale?
