The notion that Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are the same now as they were several years ago when first embarking on The Twilight Saga and the beginning of their romantic relationship seems almost ludicrous, especially in light of the actress' recent cheating scandal with Rupert Sanders. She was older, but not so much wiser in that instance. But their Twilight co-star, Taylor Lautner, for one, seems to think that the duo hasn't changed.
"Myself, Rob and Kristen have grown up a lot," Lautner explained to Total Film, in an interview that Hollywood Life calls "recently released." "But they're the same people they were four years ago. They're not affected by this. I hope they'd say the same about me."
He's evidently referring to Pattinson and Stewart's down-to-earth, unaffected attitudes that haven't been tainted by the blockbuster success they've achieved, catapulted to the top in large part by their vampire turns in the hit movie series. And Team Jacob hasn't done so shabby either, as Lautner has landed some nice roles since Twilight.
But Stewart arguably has changed a little bit, given the recent lapse in judgment that led to her indiscretion with her Snow White and the Huntsman director. Some commentators have offered that she was exercising her powerful status and flexing her feelings of invincibility when she cheated on Pattinson. More likely, it was a foolish mistake fueled by the passion created by the high-strung atmosphere of a movie set and wrongly displaced into the hands and onto the lips of Sanders.
Regardless, both Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart have unquestionably been transformed since the affair. How could they not?! He may forever have a new guard up, and she may have learned a huge lesson and received a dose of regret that has no doubt been hard to swallow.
It's not clear when Lautner was interviewed by Total Film, but it would be interesting to know if he still feels like Stewart and/or Pattinson haven't changed.
