A rumor went rampant recently saying Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher were never legally married--that their Kabbalah ceremony was symbolic only, and wouldn't stand up in a court of law. A source has discovered that's not the case, however, and appears to have proof to the contrary.
According to a report from RadarOnline, a source found a deed to one of the properties owned by Moore and Kutcher. On that deed Ashton is listed as a "married man," and Demi is listed as his "spouse." Do you think this is all the proof that's needed to prove their marriage was a legal one?
Marital descriptions such as these are apparently required on all California real estate transfers--but does that mean they asked for proof? Was a marriage certificate required when Demi and Ashton signed the papers?
If Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher are in fact still legally married, why isn't she filing for divorce? She made her split from Ashton very public at the time, issuing a statement to the media saying their marriage was over. Wouldn't you think she'd want to be divorced and really move on with her life?
Or is Demi simply punishing the Two and a Half Men star? Did she expect he would soon fall in love--the way he has with Mila Kunis--and by not filing for divorce she's making him wait even longer should he opt to remarry?
What do you think? Do you think the statuses of "married man" and "spouse" on the aforementioned deed qualify as legal? Do you think Demi and Ashton are still legally married or was theirs a symbolic marriage, acknowledged only in the eyes of those practicing Kabbalah?
