Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan have the teeny-bopper market cornered; their peppy pop vocals, cute dance moves and heart-throb looks have a grip on all those pre-teen and teenage squealing young females. But the One Direction boys may also be hot-stepping their way onto the play lists of an, ahem, slightly older, daresay cougar-like, crowd--and a celebrity one at that. The newest maybe-Directioner? None other than Kate Beckinsale.
She's a gorgeous, 39-year-old English actress who's made waves in all sorts of statement-making and sexy film roles, including those of the vampire sort. But when it comes to her off-hours, she may be far more low-key. Beckinsale has even previously admitted that she hasn't read 50 Shades of Grey, as it would seem too "exhausting." But when it comes to watching her fellow British 1D boys hit all the right notes? Much better!
As Entertainmentwise reports, Beckinsale was seen purchasing a One Direction tour DVD at Barnes & Noble in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sunday, Sept. 30. And while it's more than likely it was a surprise for her 13-year-old daughter (talk about the best mom ever!), perhaps it's not too far-fetched to imagine Beckinsale singing right along to the catchy anthem, "What Makes You Beautiful."
And Kate Beckinsale wouldn't be the only one charmed by the barely legal boy band who shot to fame after a stint on the U.K. version of The X Factor. Older gals Nicole Scherzinger, Katy Perry and Kelly Clarkson are all self-proclaimed fans. And, of course, the 18-year-old Harry Styles has his own little cougar fan club going on, even dating the much more mature, 30-something English TV presenter, Caroline Flack, for a short time. And Liam Payne, 19, could be right there with him, with his rumored new love story with the 27-year-old songstress, Leona Lewis.
