Kate Gosselin claims her failed marriage to Jon Gosselin wasn't a result of their time on reality TV. In a conversation with Katie Couric on her new talk show Katie, Kate shared details about what really went wrong.
According to a report from Hollywood Life, Kate says Jon & Kate Plus 8 wasn't to blame--her marriage was going to end anyway.
"A lot of people try to pin reality TV and say, 'My gosh. It ended in divorce. Big surprise.' We went through a lot. The signs were always there, and obviously having eight kids in a short span of time didn't help that. And I'm not at all blaming my kids, I'm just saying," she told Katie Couric.
Kate explained the presence of constant red flags and signs pointing toward the demise of her marriage that ultimately ended in December of 2009.
"I know the red flags were always there. So looking back, had you never heard the names Jon and Kate Gosselin, I'm certain that I would be in that spot now. It's hard because like any mom I just want the best for my kids," she said.
Of course in recent days Kate has come under fire for abusing her eight children--even beating them with a wooden spoon. These details are highlighted in a book by a friend of Jon Gosselin's. Author Robert Hoffman's e-book was removed from Amazon, however, after threats of legal action occurred.
Do you think Kate's confession to Katie Couric is a truthful one? Would her marriage to Jon have ended just the same had they not been reality TV stars? It seems no matter how difficult life might have been sans the reality show, that being on TV--with constant cameras and a crew present in their every day lives--must have somehow contributed to the divorce--don't you think?
