The Voice's Cee Lo Green smells a rat over at American Idol in the form of a vicious cat fight between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj. He thinks the whole thing is an American Idol set up, designed to draw viewers like last season's spat between Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine.
According to a report from TMZ, Cee Lo believes there's lots of BS involved.
"This is Hollywood, California. Hardly anything's legit," he said when asked about the feud between Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey and whether or not he believed it to be legit.
You've got to admit that The Voice got lots of publicity for last year's spat between Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera that even followed the two on to live TV during the finals. There was no mistaking those barbs—that was a real fight.
The whole Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj debacle sounded fishy from the get go. Do you think Cee Lo Green is on to something when he says it cries foul to him as well?
Is Mariah Cary and Nicki Minaj's fight a contrived scenario designed to bring in viewers to the faltering singing competition? Are they hoping by mirroring the fight that took place on The Voice that they might mirror them in the ratings, too?
