Woman beater Chris Brown has gained a loyal, supportive fan and possible new BFF from an extremely unlikely source. It's his newly reconciled girlfriend Rihanna's father, Ronald Fenty. Yikes. Is this whole family insane?
Yes, Mr. Fenty has some strong feelings about Mr. Breezy and his recent re-coupling with Rihanna. But don't bother to cover your eyes. Those feelings don't involve profanity, threats, hate, or even doubt. RihRih's pop declares he "loves" the man who beat his daughter to a pulp in 2009. Oops. Looks like that "Father of the Year" Award will have to go to the second runner-up.
"I love Chris," Ronald Fenty revealed in a recent interview. After that egregiously shocking statement, he went on to explain how CB has "charisma and talent," and he has always shown respect for Ron.
"That's what I love about him," Ronald gushed—er—enthused. Unfortunately, Rihanna's obviously demented pop didn't stop there. In a later interview with Grazia Magazine, he declared himself 100 percent in favor of the rebirth of Crianna. And why? Because he thinks CB has "changed." Gosh. If Fenty believes that, he must be the lucky owner of acres of Florida swampland, not to mention that big bridge in Brooklyn.
"Chris has matured a lot," Ron droned. "I think everybody has to put the past behind them. And they seem to have done that. Being a couple is all up to her. Everyone is entitled to make a mistake. Her fans are hoping it will happen. They see them as a perfect couple."
Good grief. This is so appalling on so many levels. The bottom line however, is this: Men who brutalize woman and/or children do not change. They cannot change. They do what they do because they like it. It gets them hot. There aren't enough years in the human lifespan for Mr. Breezy or any other woman beater to mature that much. As for Mr. Fenty, he needs a wake-up call to reality. But wait, weren't there rumors about Ron's own dicey past? Oops.
Oh, well, some people can't be saved because they have no desire to be. Even more depressing are the results of a Hollywood Life poll asking if "Rihanna's dad should support her reconciliation with Chris Brown." A shocking 68.78 percent majority voted: "Yes!"
