Last night, Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra of Teen Mom spkoke at Western Michigan University's Bernhard Center. The couple was in town to discuss their open adoption and educate young people about their choices. One of the things they talked about was the moment they found out that Catelynn was expecting a child.
"He was the whitest Mexican I've ever seen," Catelynn said of her now-fiance. "I swear I thought I was going to throw up," he added.
"I didn't know I was pregnant," Catelynn admitted. "I thought I had the flu."
Once they find out about her pregnancy, they looked into all of their options and opted on the gift of life -- adoption. While some may refer to adoption as giving your child away, that doesn't accurately describe Catelynn and Tyler's choice.
"You give away things you don't want anymore," the couple's pregnancy counselor, Dawn Baker, explained. "Catelynn and Tyler were wise beyond their years. They wanted people to understand."
Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra made the decision to give Carly a better life and she is now thriving with her adopted parents and even recently welcomed a baby brother.
