Mariah Carey's husband Nick Cannon told the ladies on The View that his wife's American Idol feud with fellow judge Nicki Minaj was all for the benefit of the cameras.
According to a report from Hollywood Life, the America's Got Talent host visited with Barbara Walters, Whoopi Goldberg and the rest of The View cast on Wednesday and called the feud a publicity stunt.
"It's not as serious as everyone is making it," Nick said. "I don't know anyone who can stand with a camera phone in front of the monitor and it just magically ends up on TMZ."
Elisabeth Hasselbeck pointedly asked Nick if he was implying that the video leak was a blatant publicity stunt.
"Yeah, I think that happened," he said.
Footage of Nicki Minaj screaming and cursing at Mariah Carey during American Idol auditions was published on October 2nd by TMZ. Do you agree with Nick Cannon that it was all staged for the cameras?
Is Nick now going to be in trouble with his wife for spilling the beans on her purported feud with Nicki Minaj? Even though lots of fans found it foul at the time of its release, no one has actually confirmed that American Idol set this whole thing up. Could Mariah get in trouble for her husband's public admission?
