Mike Sorrentino (a.k.a. The Situation) went to rehab earlier this year for what he says was an addiction to prescription medication. While he stayed clean during filming on Jersey Shore season 6 this summer, he stayed clean, but following that he reportedly fell back into his old ways.
However, Sitch is speaking out and denying claims that he relapsed last month in Los Angeles. He tells In Touch Weekly, "I'm completely sober. This is the healthiest I've been in a very long time."
He sure looks healthy. Since making his sixth season debut on Jersey Shore, Sitch looks better than ever and his mind is clearly in the right place. He has truly changed for the better since last season and that's something his co-stars appreciate.
As for the incident that happened at the London Hotel, Sitch has a logical explanation. "I happened to be at a table by the pool and yes, there was Sangria at the table," he explains. "But I did not drink any of it." Sitch is a pretty big celebrity and is bound to be in the presence of alcohol on occasion, but that doesn't mean he's going to be drinking it. He's made the decision to be completely clean and sober, regardless of what everyone around him is doing.
Plus, if Sitch can stay sober for two months surrounded by booze in Seaside Heights, he can do anything! He's focused on his sobriety and nothing can break that. Good for him.
Mike Sorrentino had first gotten hooked on pain meds after sustaining an injury on the set of Dancing With The Stars.
