Rihanna's dad, Ronald Fenty, has given his blessing on his daughter's reconciliation with Chris Brown. The two are reportedly an official couple now that Chris broke up with Karrueche Tran last week.
According to a report from PerezHilton.com, Ri's father knows all too well what it's like to mess up big time with people you love. He exploited his relationship with RiRi by doing paid interviews about the singer, which irreparably damaged their relationship.
"I think everyone makes mistakes and they shouldn't be held to them forever. Everyone should be forgiven once. There's a lot more to Chris than the whole world knows," Ronald Fenty says.
Does it seem a bit strange to you that a father would condone his daughter reconciling with a man who beat her? Back when Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to assault charges in 2009, Fenty couldn't believe he didn't fess up and admit his guilt. Now he forgives him and offers his blessing on a renewed relationship with his daughter? Something doesn't quite add up.
"I love Chris, man. He's got so much charisma. And he's always had so much respect for me. That's what I love about him. He's always shown me respect," Fenty says.
Okay, so beating up on his daughter is a show of respect? Really?
Fenty says that despite what Chris did before he's a changed man now and--even more importantly--his daughter loves him.
"I know they love each other. They always have. She's happiest when she's around him, and as long as she's happy, I am happy and the whole world should be too," he says.
Is it any wonder Rihanna is the mess she is--with parental guidance like this? There aren't many parents who would condone a reconciliation with a domestic abuse convict--unless, of course, they're getting paid well for the interview.
