Growing up, Miley Cyrus had a budding Hollywood career complete with music albums and big screen movies. However, she has been taking some time off lately, mainly to focus on herself and her upcoming wedding.
Rumors were circulating that the former Disney darling was "in-talks" to portray Bonnie Parker in a new made-for-television special. Now, though, reports confirm that she has dropped out of the production. Why did Miley decide to ditch the film? While she has not yet given a reason, there are a number of things that could have contributed to her decision.
Planning a wedding is a daunting task and could have played a role in her choice to not play the infamous criminal. However, she and her fiancé, Liam Hemsworth, have reportedly been having problems. If she were to take on a project, it is likely she wouldn't have as much time to focus on her relationship. While Liam was filming in Pennsylvania, Miley tagged along since she had no other engagements. If she had committed to the role, though, she wouldn't have been able to pick up and travel wherever, whenever she wanted to.
According to reports, Liam Hemsworth feels that Miley Cyrus posts too much on Twitter and, on Wednesday, she tweeted, "Ive got some serious thinkin to do... #decisions"
It is unclear if she was referring to the role that she was reportedly in-talks for, or if it had something to do with Liam Hemsworth.
Miley has acting talent, but playing Bonnie Parker may have been out of her range. Faye Dunaway's iconic portrayal has made it hard to find the perfect actress to revive the role. Last year, fellow former Disney star Hilary Duff was slated for the role, but some harsh comments from Dunaway and a pregnancy ultimately led to her being dropped.
Do you think Miley made the right decision to not portray Bonnie Parker?
