Niall Horan and his One Direction band mates--Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Zayn Malik--traveled to Paris this week to promote their new single "Live While We're Young." While there Niall made a feeble attempt at trying out the language.
According to a report from Capital FM, the boys spent all day Thursday in Paris, and hundred of fans waited outside their hotel.
When it came time to leave, the boys tweeted about the hospitality they received and very much enjoyed in the French city. Zayn Malik and Liam Payne said the fans were "amazing," and they referred to Paris as a "beautiful" city.
And then Niall tried out the language.
"France u have been amazing! Sorry we couldn't stop to say bye outside," Niall tweeted on Thursday afternoon. "Had to rush to airport. Thank you all so much for coming. Au Revoir."
Louis Tomlinson followed suit.
"So good to be back in Paris!!! C'est fantastique!" he tweeted.
Do you suppose any of the One Direction boys learned more than one word or phrase in French? They're excused, of course, since they were there to promote their new single and their album Take Me Home, not learn to be bilingual. The new album comes out in November.

If the One Direction band mates all learned a word or two in every country they visit, at the end of a year they could make up a very unique language all their own. Maybe they should consider doing that instead of trying to master French!
