Kim Kardashian might already be considered an "actress" to many, what with her extravagant displays on her and her family's reality TV show empire that includes Keeping up with the Kardashians and such spinoffs as the new Kourtney & Kim Take Miami with sister, Kourtney Kardashian. Sure, the shows are not supposed to be scripted. But there's no doubt Kim, who is currently dating rapper Kanye West, has a flair for the dramatic that's perhaps exaggerated once the cameras turn on. However, there's at least one person who thinks the small-screen queen has a future as a "reel" actress.
"I think she could [have a career in acting] if she wants one," Tyler Perry recently admitted at the premiere of his new movie, Alex Cross. The multihyphenate Perry is the writer, director and producer behind the upcoming flick, The Marriage Counselor, which stars Kim, a fellow multihyphenate, who is not only E!'s resident TV diva but is also an entrepreneur, spokesmodel, fashion designer and author.
"I was very pleased with Kim's performance. I didn't try to push her at all; she was never uncomfortable. Her portrayal of the character was definitely real," Perry said. He also added a huge compliment: "The thing about Kim is that she is very a very smart and wise businesswoman; whatever she wants to do she puts her mind to it then she can complete it."
Well, Kim Kardashian certainly has quite the fan in her corner. Perhaps she'll show up in future Perry projects, as well. She's also had guest-starring roles in TV series like Drop Dead Diva and Last Man Standing. But the big screen may become her future home, especially if she makes a splash in The Marriage Counselor; and Kanye West can always provide those future movie soundtracks.
In the meantime, Khloe Kardashian Odom may be the one getting the most applause with her hosting gig on The X Factor.
But, who knows, maybe there's a "Keeping up with the Kardashians: The Movie" in store!
